Waity Katie no more!

At my house, we have been gearing up for the big event...the royal wedding!

A bunch of friends and I are watching the event Friday evening; since we all work and can't be up at 4am to watch live and celebrate together.

To celebrate, we are going to eat English biscuits and jam on these plates...
Drinking tea from these mugs... (a friend bought them because she thought they were hilarious; and who am I to disagree!)
While wearing this nail polish...
And I'm giving these tiaras and knockoff Kate engagement rings. How fun!

How will you be celebrating???

Where has March gone?!?

Hello all!

Sorry for being MIA recently; there has been a lot going on in my life! But hopefully I'm back as frequently as before.

In other Lilly news, check out Under The Palm Tree's facebook page (or any of your favorite VIA shops; since the scuttlebutt from a corporate store employee is they aren't getting them) for some really exciting information about some coming re-cuts in Peel and eat and Let them eat cake...Love them! This pic is just an idea... :)

In other news, I have been addicted to buying the latest shipment of Lilly...I got great St. Patty's deals at VIA stores as well as during the sale...below is just an idea of some of the goodies I picked up. (Can you tell I LOVE the hotty pink first impression print!)
This one in Lilly's Big Squeeze but its no longer on the Lilly site. And these two pieces on sale!

Did any of you get goodies at the VIA stores sales or any new pieces from spring??

Wednesday loves...

I am loving the Audrey Leigh bow bangle I ordered last week from The Aisle (a wedding website that has so much more than just wedding stuff). I had been looking for this bangle for a while and it was sold out everywhere! And even better than finally finding this cutie, was the fact it was on sale! Love! I got the white enamel and light blue.
So Cute!

What are you loving this Wednesday???

Spring needs to get here...NOW!

Just reviewing the rest of spring Lilly and thank goodness we got out of that horrid 60's phase; we are back to the Lilly we all know and love. A few last must-haves (on my list!)

Pink Eryn; they must have listened to me! ;)

Embroidered Eryn is too cute

Love the Bowen Trellis (one of my fav prints if you couldn't tell since I already have the Margot shift!)

Great new stuff; now I just have to keep saving my pennies for the warehouse sale; June will be here before I know it!

Another Cruiser!

Loving the Lilly beach cruiser again! I didn't get last years and I won't get this one either since I already have a great bike we use at the Valley Forge park all the time in the summer; but, If I needed a new bike, this would be it! Its the super cute stuffed shells print and this year its coming out in May; unlike last year when it didn't ship till August (by then summer is almost over!)Thoughts? Are you getting it?

Have a great weekend!!

TCFW!

Just popping in for a quick post about some new finds that are too cute for words!

These amazing canvas totes are my new must have! I am ordering one ASAP!

And this darling headband is to die for! (Apparently they were on glee and gossip girl...maybe that's how I missed them since I don't watch!)
And lastly, I need these Art Deco style monogrammed earrings or I will probably die (okay, not really but how amazing are these! I just wish I could find them in silver)

How did I miss these amazing pieces? I don't know but I'm not letting that hold me back from getting them now that I've found them!

What are a few new must haves you've stumbled upon?

Re-Evaluating Spring Lilly

So, the rest of the Lilly line came out and is available online to view; big pictures and zoom available. Yey. I preordered a few items from UTPT during their 9th anniversary party and already got the Jonah and wore it today to many compliments. Love the Jonah dress! And might I add, their giveaway bags were phenomenal! Murfee Scarfs, Lifeguard press items and gift certificates! I am already planning what I want to use mine on!

The other items I preordered from UTPT are...
Margot Shift Print Engineered

Blossom Dress Printed in Hotty Pink First Impression

And I tried on the new Shauna Dress Embroidered in Navy and fell in love last week so I couldn't resist that piece as well!

Other pieces I love (the later shipments are 10x better than the first; like I said before, a bit too 60's inspired for my taste!)
Blossom Dress Jacquard
Gloria Texture Jacquard Sweater

Paley Cardigan Ribbon
Cissy Skirt

Wynne Top

Eryn Dress Stripe (I just wish it came in pink too! Yellow isn't my best color)

All great pieces now on my wish list. My only issue...some of the prices are a bit much! Like the Fitch Shift Jacquard is $268; I think that's a bit much for a pretty plain looking shift dress!
And the Roe top; $158; now my husband is understanding but not for that price! And the Wynne top is darling; but I won't get it unless it goes on sale; $68 is too much for a cotton tank top with a few ruffles; in my opinion.

Also, some of the pieces looked a lot like last years; like the Franco Seersucker. That's one I got last summer and on sale! As well as the Katia Wrap; I already have three and would have liked other wrap/cardigan options.

One thing I have noticed; things are selling out in record time. I'm guessing its because they want to make Lilly more exclusive and are making less of each new style.

What are you thinking? Do you agree or do you love other pieces I didn't mention??

Happy Friday; almost!!

Where have I been???

I don't really know how I missed this, but Lilly launched a few items of jewelry with the spring collection. One of them being these...

Now, I know I worked for kate spade but these remind me a lot of bracelets kate did about two summers ago...also called ric rac bangle.

Can you tell the difference??? Neither can I.

What do you think? A mistake or is Lilly ripping off kate spade???

Lydia & Pugs

I don't know how I haven't heard of the most darling stationary this side of the Earth, but I recently discovered Lydia & Pugs!

I am ordering some of this great stationary ASAP!

How great are these cards! Just to name a few. And they have tons of breeds; yorkies included. :)

PS, no compensation, etc, etc. I just love cute stationary!

A blog award!

Merci beaucoup to The Social Knight for sending me this award! Its the kick in the bum I needed to post! Its been a crazy week but I must not let that stop me from blogging!

Now to the rules!
Thank and link back to the person(s) who gave the award. Post 7 facts about yourself. Award other bloggers!

1. I graduate with my Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences (MSLIS) on June 10!! Its been on my mind a great deal lately since I only have 15 more class weeks to make it thru!
2. I have a yorkie and a yorkie-chon and want another pup ASAP!
3. I have a slight (read: MAJOR!!) shopping addiction. I get such a rush from shopping. I probably should do something about it...but then I would never get to go visit my favorite sales girls anymore!
4. I'm obsessed with cosmetics; I don't wear a ton of makeup but I'm always buying and trying something new.
5. I never go anywhere without my kate spade planner...I'm still 'old school' like that!
6. As a librarian, I don't read nearly as much as I want or would like to!
7. If I wasn't a librarian, I would probably be a buyer for a company. I was offered a job doing that back when I worked retail but I love being a librarian too much! (Weird, I know)

And there you go! Some random facts. And now, I tag...

and all of my lovely readers! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read the rantings of lil' ol' me!

Saint Valentine came early to my house!

Since its been the craziest weather in a while, I was home again from work yesterday. Meaning I was there when the post man came by. And boy was I excited when I saw a package...addressed to my husband! Well, it was from Jennifer Zeuner...love her stuff and have been mentioning for a while I really want a necklace with my monogram on it. Well, I had to wait alllll day till he came home from work at 6 and nicely asked him what was in the package. He was so annoyed! Out of all the times I'm not home and he gets to the mail first, the one time he orders something to be delivered to the house, I'm there to get it! Well, it was good for me because I got my gift early and bad for him because for once he really did listen and get me a good surprise for Valentine's Day!
On my desk at work. Its so pretty!

On me...but taken in the mirror so it's backwards!

I am so excited to wear my necklace today and I absolutely love it and my husband for doing something so lovely for me and thinking of Valentine's day in advance this year since it takes 4 - 6 weeks for them to custom make each piece.

What are you wishing for for Valentine's Day???

New Bag!

A few months ago, I was in NYC and while my girlfriends and I were in line at Starbucks, I saw a girl with the such a cute bag...and I remember thinking, I must have it!
Well, I forgot all about the bag after that wild weekend and when I went shopping this Saturday at my local mall, my mom and I stopped into our usual haunts; Lilly, Bloomies, etc and the window display at Burberry caught my eye so I stopped in (It was so colorful and bright and unexpected!). And there it was...the bag from NYC! I had planned on getting a few pieces from Lilly but thought the bag was a better buy...cost per wear as my mom pointed out! (I think she is a bad influence on me when it comes to shopping! But she did pay for half as an early graduation gift since she knows I have been working so hard to graduate in June with my Master's).
Anyway, I am the proud owner of a gorgeous new Burberry bag. Yey! And this picture doesn't do it justice! Its slim and lovely and has gorgeous hardware.

Hope you all had a great weekend and got a chance to try on some of the new Lilly; I found the pieces I liked pretty true fits...what did you think?

New Lilly

The day we have all been waiting for is finally here; Spring Lilly! Now, I was pretty pumped to see this after an IMO lackluster resort but great fall but again, I'm not loving it! Thankfully I got some things from Rue La La recently or I wouldn't have any cute spring dresses! The few I do like are...

Well, it is obvious I love the Shauna; in fact, I'm wearing one right now! These four pieces are the only ones I'm going to say I feel are must haves. Love the updated Shauna with cut out pieces (and that its machine washable!) and the classic Shauna. The Betsy is always a fav and who doesn't love a fresh take on a classic argyle sweater!

My peeves about spring...
The dresses; the Adelson again! Please! Its the same as the other three season's Adelson's with more lace this time!
And the prints are pretty boring; daisy's? To me, there is nothing Lilly about that; it looks like something I saw a few years ago at some consignment shop from bygone years. I also don't love the floral frenzy prints; they don't feel Lilly to me. And the Crane pose in navy...we had it in brown for fall and it sat on sale racks from then till now! I can't wait to see the next wave of Spring; Hotty Pink First Impression looks like a winner and so does Multi Peel and Eat; classic Lilly prints.

I miss the days of Taboo and Not So Crabby and In The Slim and Stuffed Shells and Pandamonium and Alberta Gator and Don't Be Koi and Later Gator and Frisky Business and many many more! Those prints screamed Lilly and when people saw you, they knew it was a Lilly. And I couldn't get enough of these great prints that inspired and made me smile on a bad day.

Am I being an ol' fuddy duddy? I like change but this change doesn't seem Lilly to me; it seems like we are being pushed into the '60's and honestly, that's not some place I want my style going.

That are your thoughts on spring thus far? Loving? Hating? A little 'meh' like me?
Leave me a note in the comments; or if you already blogged about it, give me a link so I can read your thoughts!

kate spade Goodies!

As some of you know, I used to work part time at the kate spade outlet near my house last summer. Well I am still close with a number of the girls (amazing ladies might I add!!) and they called me to let me know they just received a shipment of goodies from specialty and there were a few items they knew I would love; wasn't that soo sweet of them to think of me!
I will say, I made out like a bandit since almost everything was 40% off!
Knightsbridge Jewelry Case
Knightsbridge Neda
Wellie socks (perfect for warmer weather; for winter I always use the hunter fleece socks)
Frisky Flat
Twirl perfume
Crystal confection collar necklace
Make a day of it bangle (in silver; no longer on the ks website)
The only thing I loved but didn't get was the kate spade nylon esther...I might go back for it because it is too amazing!

If you are looking for something, the girls at my old store are fab and so sweet. They ship anywhere in the continental US for $5! It truly is a steal; for one item or 20!
(610) 326-6242 I hope you all are in the midst of a fab weekend!

xxAmy

PS No one asked me or gave me any compensation for this post; I just love ks and love a good deal!
